Bobi's "boring" weekly update

Boring because... nothing happened! Not one pound gained, not one pound lost! I'm not sure, but I think my body may be at a plateau stage. I have started working out 5-6 days a week, making sure to take Sundays off. I am loving feeling something going on in my muscles again! It's been way too long that my muscles have just been sitting dormant!! I have been doing the Biggest Loser season 1 and 2 workout DVD's. Hopefully this week I can kick this plateau in the butt and get back to it!
Scratch that last statement.
I WILL kick this plateau in the butt this week and get back to it!

Bobi's weekly update andTurkey Thai Skillet... It's a Keeper!

Lost 2 lbs this week! 26 lbs lost so far... 18 to go! I can do this!
I am leaving the following recipe on here just in case you didn't see it before this weekly update. :)

Brandi gave me a recipe called Turkey Thai Skillet that I tried and it was seriously fabulous!! THANKS BRANDI! It will be going into our dinner rotation for sure! I wanted to share it with everyone on here and tell you all that you need to give it a try... even my two picky eaters loved this!! (Drew Manning from "Fit 2 Fat 2 Fit" shared this recipe.)

Turkey Thai Skillet
1 lb lean ground turkey
1 LARGE red bell pepper (or 2 small)- sliced thin
2 Tbsp fresh ginger
3 cloves garlic
1 tsp red pepper flakes
3 Tbsp peanut butter
2 Tbsp lime juice
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp sesame oil
1/2 C. cilantro- chopped
8 romaine lettuce leaves
~Brown the turkey in skillet or wok; drain any grease. Add peppers, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook over med-high about 4 minutes or until peppers have softened slightly.
~~Meanwhile, whisk together peanut butter, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil and cilantro. Remove the skillet from heat and add the PB mixture to the skillet; mix well. Serve the meat mixture rolled up in the romain leaves or over chopped lettuce.
***I don't like cilantro to overpower the rest of my food so I only put half of the cilantro called for into mine and I left out the red pepper flakes. Also, next time I make this I will be doubling the recipe!***
I hope everyone gives this recipe a try... it's definitely a keeper!

Bobi's weekly update

This past week was a tough one for me. Lots of stress and more than one cheat meal! I was sure I was going to step on the scale this morning and it would say that I gained a pound or two... I didn't! I stayed the exact same weight that I was last Monday! So happy- can't beat myself up about that! Going to be trying hard this week to get back on track. Doing good so far. :)

I lost 1.8 pounds this past week. I've lost a total of 50.6 pounds since I started this journey in September. Also login that I'm 160.6 and wearing a size 8! Yippee!!!

Bobi's update

I bought a new scale. So this morning I weighed in. I am so excited because I have lost 19 lbs since this journey began!! Almost to the 20 mark! I can hardly believe it. Woo hoo! :)

broken scale

So Trypten broke my scale. When I get a new one I will start from scratch I guess, since no two scales ever say the same thing! Happy "Journey to Awesome" everyone!

So last week I didn't do so hot. I gained 1.2 pounds so I was a little down. Then I came this week and I lost 3.6 and feel great! I've lost 48.8 pounds total & weigh 162.4! :)

Bobi's 3rd Week Down

I am so excited to say that I have lost 4 lbs this week. I am loving this! I am starting to want the fruits and veggies more now too. I guess my body is starting to recognize what makes it feel good. Love that! Yesterday I made myself an omelet for breakfast. Usually I would stuff it full of colby jack cheese and crumbled bacon. I stuffed this one full of chopped green and red bell peppers and a small amount of mozzarella. SO GOOD! Never knew I would like that!
Journey to fabulous, that's what this is! :)

Bobi's 2nd week down

I put two small mason jars in my kitchen window. One says "Pounds To Go" and the other says "Pounds Lost". When I started this this weight loss journey I put 44 marbles (each marble represents 1 pound) into the "pounds to go" jar. Each Monday morning when I weigh myself I take marbles out of the "PTG" jar, and put them into the "PL" jar. I now have 37 marbles in the "PTG" jar and 7 marbles in the "PL" jar. I am loving the visual! Great motivator for me!
2nd week down... 3 lbs lost!

Bobi's 1st week down

Very Happy to report that this first week in my lifestyle change I lost 4 lbs!! So excited! I was very careful about what I was putting into my mouth. I decided that once a week I will give myself 1 "cheat meal". That doesn't mean that I get to go totally nuts, it just means that if I happen to be in town on a date, or at a family gathering, I can indulge a little bit more. This week my cheat meal was pizza hut. I ate 2 pieces of supreme pizza. I have been trying really hard to listen to my body so that I know when it's telling me that I've had enough. I have also been taking smaller bites and making sure to TASTE every bite. The food has been much more satisfying... I know, crazy right!?! I have been making sure to eat breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. Then, no food after 8:00. This one is really hard for me. I did a lot of snacking after the kids went to bed. (That's when I would pull out the chips! So bad!!) Another big thing I have been doing is Water, Water, Water! When I wake up I chug 16 oz. h20 (makes me feel like yacking, but once I get used to it, I'm sure I will have no yacky feelings anymore), then I have 8 oz. h20 with my mid-morning snack, 8 oz. h20 with my lunch, 8 oz. h20 with my afternoon snack, 8 oz. h20 with my dinner, and another 8-16 oz. h20 before bed. And if I feel thirsty any other time of the day I have myself a refreshing drink of h20 then too. ;)
Now onto another week!
Going to be making it a good one! :)

No more settling for being less than the best!!

I will be starting a weight loss journey on Monday. I hope it won't be as hard as I think it's going to be! Not looking forward to it, but ready for it. Sunny, on last season's Biggest Loser said, "I'm tired of settling for being less than the best, I want to be the best!" I also am sick and tired of putting myself last and settling for less than the best.
