12 week challenge

Hey everybody! Wanted to check in... and share my newest goal!
I am in a 12 week challenge with Golds Gym and I could not be more excited about it! other than the fact that the 11 lbs and 4% body fat I have lost since Nov could really help me in this;) Oh well... it will only make me try harder! Oh and did I mention the prize is a cruise! Yeah I want that!!! Wish me luck!

Bodypump and Yoga!!

My mom and I go to a gym together and today we decided to try the 1 hour BODYPUMP class and the 1 hour Yoga stretch class right after! We loved it! The bodypump was hard but so fun and the music was hard not to throw the weights down and start bustin my best moves! I ended up wiggling a bit while doing weights bc I just couldn't resist the Black Eyed Peas!

and OH MY GOSH... THE YOGA was AMAZING, DELIGHTFUL, FREEING, CENTERING, FRESH... need I say more? I think moms (or women in general) should do this at least once a week! I truly did not think about my husband or any of my kids or tasks that I need to get done or chores or all the other blah blah mumbo jumbo that is constantly racing through our head FOR A FULL HOUR! I was amazed! My favorite part is at the end of Yoga she has us lay on our backs and close our eyes and breathe! I am in love!!!!


side note... I am within 12 pounds of my goal! Seems like it should be easy but in reality the last 10 are the hardest to lose. It all comes down to self-control, portion size, and what we are eating! I can do it! I have to do it! I have my 10 year class reunion this summer! Gotta look good for that, I shouldn't care so much about that but I do so it is a big part of my motivation!

It's a good day

It's been a long time since I have posted anything on here. So I thought I would give it a shot. This year I decided I was not going to set myself a resolution to lose X amount of pounds. I was just going to work on getting myself healthier. So far it's been good. I have lost 5.9 pounds and am eating healthier. It's amazing what you find out about portions when you track everything you eat. I use LoseIt!, which is an app for ipods, iphones, ipads, etc. and I am doing P90X workouts again. I am loving it. I feel better, I have more energy, and I am happy with what I have seen so far.

Hope this new year brings all of us happiness, joy and motivation.
